After the seventeen years, It was rally in Nepal as huge crowd of people were seen protesting for backing the monarchy on Tribhuvan international airport. Before also, we saw monarchy in Nepal likewise Rana rule literally ruled over Nepal for 104 years. after that we saw many kings ruled over Nepal and they came and gone but the political system of Nepal seems still not in control. there is still the political instability and the economy of the country is certain. the system of the country during the past was absolutely collapsed as rana used to see the country as their own. they weren’t providing any facilities and anything to the other people.
Rana dominated the overall country and they couldn’t think about the development of the country in overall. on 2011, king Tribhuvan became the king and then, on 2017 B.S, Panchayat system is introduced in Nepal and moving on 2046 B.S , panchayat system was ended and moving on again on 2063 B.S, the democracy is restored after the 2007 B.S.
Prithivi Narayan shah made the kathmandu as a capital of Nepal and the after that there were lots of war and fought at all in Nepal.
from 2017 B.S to 2046 B.S. during the panchayat system there should have been developed in the country but that couldn’t happen at all. The royal family was died on jestha 19, 2058 B.S. Before the Rana Regime, many king came and gone but still the country’s faces was really not improving at all.
it’s really harsh situation that this is happening inside the country. so the development of the country is not happening at all. whatever the king did during the past wasn’t enough and the current situation of Nepal is struggling a lot still. there were lots of political distribution at all.
Prior to its 2008 transition to a federal democratic republic, Nepal was a monarchy for more than 240 years. When Prithvi Narayan Shah united several petty kingdoms to become modern-day Nepal in 1768, the monarchy was created. Nepal went through several stages of monarchy over the years, including absolute control, a constitutional government, and eventually the institution’s abolition. after the restoring of democracy from 2007 to 2017, after 10 years panchayat system was introduced in Nepal and from 2017 to 2046, there were again the harsh situation like the rana rule. After that Prime minister was formed and it was somehow got well and after that on 2063 B.S, there were the mass movement of people where they fought for the democracy.
Early Monarchs and Ancient Kingdoms: The Gopal and Mahishpal Dynasties (c. 1500–1000 BCE)
They were thought to have been cowherds and buffalo herders, and they were the first known kings of Nepal.
Around 800 BCE until 300 CE, the Kirat Dynasty
For almost a millennium, Nepal was dominated by the Mongoloids known as the Kirats.
There were 29 monarchs in this dynasty, with Yalambar being the first Kirat king.
Dynasty of Lichhavi (c. 400–750 CE).
Buddhism and Hinduism became the two main religions brought by the Lichhavis.
Among the most important kings was King Manadeva (c. 464–505 CE).
The dynasty made contributions to governance, art, and culture.
Dynasty of Thakuri (c. 750–1200 CE).
Ruled following the Lichhavis’ decline.
Kantipur (present-day Kathmandu) is said to have been founded by King Gunakamadeva.
**The Rana Regime (1846–1951).
- The Shah kings became figureheads, while the hereditary Rana prime ministers held real power.
- Jung Bahadur Rana started this system and introduced a powerful autocratic rule.
- Nepal remained isolated from the outside world during this period.
- The Ranas were overthrown in 1951 with the help of King Tribhuvan and Indian support.
**End of Monarchy (1951–2008).
- **King Tribhuvan (1911–1955)
- Restored royal power by ending the Rana rule in 1951.
- **King Mahendra (1955–1972).
- Introduced the **Panchayat system a party-less political system.
- **King Birendra (1972–2001)
- Introduced democratic reforms after the 1990 People’s Movement.
- Massacred in the Royal Palace Massacre of 2001 along with most of his family.
- **King Gyanendra (2001–2008)
- Reinstated as king after the massacre.
- Dissolved the government in 2005, leading to a nationwide protest.
- The monarchy was abolished in 2008 and Nepal became a federal democratic republic.
Democracy and constitutional monarchy(1951-1990)
After the fall of rana regime, Nepal transaction period starts from king Tribhuvan and with his son king Mahendra.
king Mahendra dismissed the democratic government in 1960 and introduced the panchayat system. His son later re introduced the democracy in 1990. there was a royal massacre on 2001 and Gyanendra dismissed the government in 2005 and tried to rule as the monarch.
There was the abolition of the monarchy on 2008 and again Nepal was declared as a federal democratic republic country and king Gyanendra was forced to leave the palace and Ram Baran yadav became the president of Nepal for the first time. The former king Gyanendra lives as a private citizen now.
